NUGA: A Brief History

NUGA was founded in July 2004 by a group of individuals who were passionate about the game of Golf. They wanted to establish a Pan-Nigerian Association where they can share their experiences, encourage one another and above all, enjoy the game.

The acronym, NUGA, stands for Nigeria United Kingdom Golfing Association, reflects the two countries from which most of the members come from or live in. The NUGA motto is Friendship, Integrity and Charity.
The long term vision of NUGA is to have its own Golf Course.

Our objectives are:

To promote the playing of the game of golf to a high standard whilst maintaining etiquette, honesty & integrity.

To facilitate an environment for networking and making charitable contributions.

To forge relationships between Nigerian golfers resident in both the United Kingdom, Nigeria and worldwide.

To foster social development and welfare.

To develop awareness of the benefit of recreation especially amongst Nigerians.

To produce world-class champions by focusing on the training and development of Nigerian/British youths.
